Artist's Comments
This is my annual self-portrait for me at age 19. I decided to do an annual portrait of myself starting at age 18, to see both my change in appearance and progress in skill.
Here's last year's finished self-portrait: [link] I think I did pretty well on this. The hair is not so great, but that's mostly just for lack of detail in it and honestly, not really trying. The eyes were from a different reference photo since the light shone on my glasses in the main photo. I used a grid to get the proportions right and I think it worked out well. This portrait is very different from last year's, but I prefer this one, probably because I'm smiling like a goofus.  8 1/2 hours 9H, 8H, HB, 3B pencils HB mechanical pencil q-tips, tissue, tortillions for blending kneaded, pencil, and electric erasers It's 6 in. x 7 in.
