Finished. So... I decided to do an annual portrait of myself starting at age 18. This is to see both my change in appearance and progress in skill. (I turned 19 in the middle of this drawing, but oh well, lol.)
The hair didn't turn out as well as I hoped, but it did turn out better than I expected. Definitely going to need lots more practice with hair before I am satisfied with my hair-drawing ability. I actually made most of it up because it was getting too tedious. 10 hours 9H, 7H, HB, B, 2B, 5B, 6B pencils mechanical 0.7mm #2 pencil stick, kneaded, plastic, and electric erasers tortillions and tissues for blending It's approximately 9 x 7 in. Here's the reference photo (taken by myself): [link] Edited out a white line (that my scanner puts on everything it scans) in photoshop. (Look at WIPs to see what I mean.) The scanner also blurred the top and bottom of the scan. |
